Cognitive Stimulation Therapy

Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) is a programme for people with mild to moderate dementia. It involves a wide range of group activities aiming to stimulated memory and thinking such as word games, puzzles and creative tasks.

CST can improve certain aspects of dementia such as memory, problem-solving, communication, quality of life and mood. It is recommended by the UK Government NICE guidance on the management of dementia.

Music Therapy

Music therapy has the power to improve the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. can help improve quality of life as music can elicit emotions and memories and help provide a link to a person’s past. Musical training can delay cognitive decline and promotes braid plasticity in the elderly brain.

According to the Alzheimer’s Society, music therapy can help to manage to reduce agitation, isolation, depression and anxiety in people with dementia.
